16th February Survivors Write goes public!
I’ve just created the board for information and submissions for Survivors Write on our forum at Our Writes.
Members can now submit any work they’d like to be considered for publication in this eZine in a private, members only forum. Guests as well as members can ask questions and discuss SW in this forum too.
I look forward to the development of this new venture.

14th February What is Survivors Write?
It is the eZine of Our Writes, a creative forum for abuse survivors. It’s core aim is to publicise the forum, as well as to provide a platform for abuse survivors to share their work across a wider audience.
Our Writes is a safe online forum for survivors of all forms of abuse to share their writing and artwork.
It is for survivors of
* bullying
* emotional and psychological abuse
* physical abuse and torture
* sexual abuse and incest
* domestic violence
during childhood, adolescence and adulthood.
It is called Our Writes so that we are reminded of how we have rights, we have the right to self respect, and to be treated sensitively. All too often our rights have been violated or ignored and now is our chance to claim back our rights and own ourselves and our feelings.
Writing is a powerful tool, as is art and photography. Through these creative media we can transform our pain, tell our stories, and reach others. We can challenge negative stereotypes, confront misunderstanding and oppose stigma through our written words. Writing can be therapeutic and cathartic. I don’t know where I would be today without the ability to write my truths and to express the intricacies of my psyche through therapeutic art.
So. Post your work, receive constructive and honest, genuine feedback from like-minded members.
One of my reasons for creating the forum is because of the harsh atmosphere I’ve come across in online writer’s forums. Our Writes is not like that.
I hope you gain much from your time there.
